Using techniques from diverse fields of knowledge including yoga, chi gong, kettlebells, martial arts, circus arts, and dance.  Practicng principles and patterns of human movement gives us an opportunity to re-map the way we interact with our own bodies, each other, and our environment. Moving through a dynamic and irregular terrain in the outdoors constantly challenges us to expand how we interact and solve problems to meet our goals with safety and fun. Sharing ideas and diversifying our skill base builds immunity. We play games that challenge us to organize new strategies. Discover Indigenous Artifacts on an actual Archeology Dig - 9-11AM
At the Green River Preserve, Martha Wallace has been the Chief Archeologist and has been active with ongoing projects for the past 6 years. You will have the opportunity to actually participate in a dig for Native Artifacts. You will also learn about the general basics of field of archaeology - site identification, phases of excavation, techniques of excavation, soil identification, artifact collection, artifact identification, feature identification, site mapping...
You will examine artifacts found on GRP, including artifacts from 10,000 BC to 500 AD. Also, we we'll discuss how projectiles and tools are created by flintknapping with rocks.
In addition, Martha will have an excavation unit open, and you will be able to assist in excavating with shovels, trowels, screens, collecting artifacts and assigning provenience... -weather permitting;
In the case of rain, you will discover lab techniques - including washing, identifying and cataloging artifacts, analysis of artifacts...

This session is for those who want to take their hiking to the next level and put more miles under their belts in the wilderness.  . Before we hit the trail, we will discuss what and how to pack for 1-2 night trips and longer multi-day trips or thru-hikes, proper attire and the art of layering, foods and cooking kits will be discussed. We will then venture off for an easy 2 mile hike with the weighted packs to work with adjustments and balance.

Caving - Exploring the Underground ~ 10:00AM - 12:30PM
Have you always wanted to experience exploring the labyrinths of the underground? This introduction to caving gives you the opportunity to explore two rooms that go beyond the terminator point (total darkness) within a fissure cave system. There are no tight passages, but does require a little scooting on all fours that open up to rooms that you can easily setup in. Johnathan, your expert guide will bring some indigenous instruments so you can have a unique jamming session in the perfect natural acoustical location. For folks who might have a claustrophobic concern, This is a very small cave network and you are never further than a few dozen feet from the entrance.  It is the perfect cave and great experience to work through those fears.

This hands on class will teach you the basic wilderness skills needed to stabilize an injury or manage a wound until you can either hike out or help arrives. You will also learn how to improvise with what you have on you, in your pack or in nature to manage an injury when you don’t have it in your first aid kit. This class is taught by a professional Firefighter Medic and International Expedition Guide.

Nature Up Close - Creating an Illustrated Field Journal ~ 1-3PM
Join June Bradley for an exploration of the natural world as observed and recorded by YOU. Field journals have long been utilized by researchers and scientists to record their findings and observations. They can also be a wonderful tool for anyone who loves and appreciates nature and the outdoor experience. During the NATURE UP CLOSE class you will learn how to be more observant while hiking and exploring, as well as how to add descriptive notes to quick sketches made from direct observation of plants, animals and the landscape. Creating an illustrated field journal is a great way to combine an art practice with outdoor time, while documenting your adventures for review later on. We will stop along the trail and look into the microcosmos that thrives at our feet. We will also practice capturing the essence of a landscape with pencil or pen. If you have colored pencils bring those along as well. June will help you discover how to record what you see using line quality, value contrast, focal point, proportion, perspective, and composition. Come with a desire to explore, slow down, and see more fully the beauty that surrounds us.

Discover Indigenous Artifacts on an actual Archeology Dig - 9-11AM
At the Green River Preserve, Martha Wallace has been the Chief Archeologist and has been active with ongoing projects for the past 6 years. You will have the opportunity to actually participate in a dig for Native Artifacts. You will also learn about the general basics of field of archaeology - site identification, phases of excavation, techniques of excavation, soil identification, artifact collection, artifact identification, feature identification, site mapping...
You will examine artifacts found on GRP, including artifacts from 10,000 BC to 500 AD. Also, we we'll discuss how projectiles and tools are created by flintknapping with rocks.
In addition, Martha will have an excavation unit open, and you will be able to assist in excavating with shovels, trowels, screens, collecting artifacts and assigning provenience... -weather permitting;
In the case of rain, you will discover lab techniques - including washing, identifying and cataloging artifacts, analysis of artifacts...

Have you always wanted to experience exploring the labyrinths of the underground? This introduction to caving gives you the opportunity to explore two rooms that go beyond the terminator point (total darkness) within a fissure cave system. There are no tight passages, but does require a little scooting on all fours that open up to rooms that you can easily setup in. Johnathan, your expert guide will bring some indigenous instruments so you can have a unique jamming session in the perfect natural acoustical location. For folks who might have a claustrophobic concern, This is a very small cave network and you are never further than a few dozen feet from the entrance.  It is the perfect cave and great experience to work through those fears.

Join June Bradley for an exploration of the natural world as observed and recorded by YOU. Field journals have long been utilized by researchers and scientists to record their findings and observations. They can also be a wonderful tool for anyone who loves and appreciates nature and the outdoor experience. During the NATURE UP CLOSE class you will learn how to be more observant while hiking and exploring, as well as how to add descriptive notes to quick sketches made from direct observation of plants, animals and the landscape. Creating an illustrated field journal is a great way to combine an art practice with outdoor time, while documenting your adventures for review later on. We will stop along the trail and look into the microcosmos that thrives at our feet. We will also practice capturing the essence of a landscape with pencil or pen. If you have colored pencils bring those along as well. June will help you discover how to record what you see using line quality, value contrast, focal point, proportion, perspective, and composition. Come with a desire to explore, slow down, and see more fully the beauty that surrounds us.

Discover Indigenous Artifacts on an actual Archeology Dig - 9-11AM
At the Green River Preserve, Martha Wallace has been the Chief Archeologist and has been active with ongoing projects for the past 6 years. You will have the opportunity to actually participate in a dig for Native Artifacts. You will also learn about the general basics of field of archaeology - site identification, phases of excavation, techniques of excavation, soil identification, artifact collection, artifact identification, feature identification, site mapping...
You will examine artifacts found on GRP, including artifacts from 10,000 BC to 500 AD. Also, we we'll discuss how projectiles and tools are created by flintknapping with rocks.
In addition, Martha will have an excavation unit open, and you will be able to assist in excavating with shovels, trowels, screens, collecting artifacts and assigning provenience... -weather permitting;
In the case of rain, you will discover lab techniques - including washing, identifying and cataloging artifacts, analysis of artifacts...

This hands on repair class teaches you the the right tools to cary, the skills and techniques to make those repairs while on the trail so you can continue your ride without fear of having a breakdown because you will confidently know how to make those repairs. This class is taught by Master Bike Technicians that will work with you through every step on how to make those quick repairs and will discuss preventative care that you can take before even leaving your home.
